Mike Tadych’s ease in dealing with people and broad work history enables him to handle a wide range of legal problems. Mike has worked on matters ranging from multifamily construction project disputes and trademark litigation to the representation of a national day-care operator before its state licensing agency and negotiation of the contract for a national public radio personality. He has represented architecture firms large and small in a wide variety of issues and disputes.

Matt Vaughn is an imaginative and energetic lawyer whose assiduous work ethic produces consistently solid results for clients. Matt focuses on commercial lawsuits, including insurance coverage disputes, construction claims, covenants not to compete, and intra-corporate disputes involving closely-held and family corporations. Matt’s willingness to “think outside the box” and work habits make him especially adept at issue assessment, brief writing and other areas of law practice.

SMVT understands that time is precious in development, design and construction and know-well that time in court can be time wasted even when clients are in the right. In instances where difficulties cannot be resolved, SMVT represents development and construction clients in arbitration and in state and federal court litigation working to find favorable, cost-effective resolutions for our clients.

SMVT has significant experience in perfecting and enforcing statutory liens. Liens on property and funds-owed may be provided by NC’s statutes to architects, suppliers and contractors involved in property development, design and construction.

SMVT also assists firms and individuals with matters involving their professional and occupational licensing boards and sorting through workers compensation insurance premium audits.
