Starting and Operating Your Own Firm

The idea of starting your own firm can be daunting, watch this webinar to get a sense of what it involves from two AIA Trust Trustees.

Starting and Operating Your Own Firm (1.5 CEU)

Starting your own architecture firm is challenging, and structuring it to survive is not a given. Al Rubeling Jr., FAIA, and Brad Benjamin, AIA, are two former trust chairs who will present this seminar on successfully starting and running a design firm based on their personal experience. Al has owned his successful architectural firm and taught the “Professional Practice” and “Careers of Architecture” course at University of Maryland School of Architecture. His popular book, How to Start and Operate Your Own Design Firm, was published in 1994 and again in 2007. Brad is the founder of Radium Architecture, Greenville, SC – a thriving firm that works to bring purpose to the built environment.  In addition to serving as an AIA Trust Trustee, Brad has also been an AIA Young Architects Award recipient and has served as a member of AIA’s Strategic Council.
