Elizabeth’s passion for the built environment began early while growing up in Virginia. She frequently visited historic homes and American heritage sites, fostering a deep appreciation for architecture and design. This early exposure likely inspired her lifelong commitment to serving the architectural profession.

Elizabeth earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from Longwood University and later completed a Master’s in Public Administration from Old Dominion University. She began her career with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 2011, initially joining the Honors & Awards Department. Over the years, she transitioned to the Governance Department, where she worked closely with the AIA Board of Directors and the AIA Strategic Council. In 2022, Elizabeth took on the role of Executive Director of the AIA Trust, becoming its third leader.
