Growing up in Virginia, Elizabeth went on many tours of historic homes and American heritage sites where she developed a passion for the built environment so it is quite possible she was always destined to work with architects and serve the profession.  She received her Bachelors Degree in English from Longwood University and went on to receive her Masters of Public Administration from Old Dominion University.  Her career with AIA began in 2011 with the Honors & Awards Department and then years later she transitioned into the Governance Department working closely with the AIA Board of Directors and the AIA Strategic Council.  In 2022 she began her role with the AIA Trust as its third Executive Director.
