Highlights from our time at the AIA Conference on Architecture 2022 in the “Windy City”!

A’22 in Review

The AIA Trust stayed busy at Booth #4454 at the A’22 Architecture Expo in Chicago. Our thanks to all who took the time to stop in, see us and learn more about the wealth of resources you can always count on us to provide as a member benefit. It was a pleasure having the opportunity walking many visitors through our website and pointing them to exactly what they needed – and more! As you can count on annually at Conference, AIA Trust staff was accompanied by some of our fantastic plan providers to help in answering specific Insurance and retirement questions.  We also enjoyed all our callers who stopped by to see how to use the touchless AI photobooth camera.

AIA Trust Chair Amy Slattery, AIA also represented the Trust in the Friday afternoon Center for Practice Roundtable: Rising Strategies for Practice Innovation. Together with firm leaders Stacey Keller, AIA from the AIA Center for Practice, Mike Elliott, AIA of Kluber Architects & Engineers, and CannonDesign CEO Brad Lukanic, AIA, the panel discussion highlighted key industry trends, including labor shortages, cost volatility, and the impact of artificial intelligence on delivery. The opportunities identified included increased collaboration between large and small firms, as well as the building of consortiums within the AIA to leverage shared knowledge.

Looking ahead to A’23

It is hard to believe, but before summer is through, we will begin considering what content we should be sharing for the AIA Conference on Architecture 2023 in San Francisco.  We would love to hear from you and know if there is a risk management, insurance, or legal need you or your firm would like to learn more about from us there.  Please reach out to aiatrust@aia.org and let us know!
