Number of attorneys on staff: 6. Number of attorneys dedicated to A/E Work: 4. GCWP is dedicated to the defense of design professionals throughout Northern California. All four partners in the firm specialize in litigation and have trial experience. Primary counsel John Broghammer’s practice is almost exclusively focused on representation of A/Es; from contract creation and negotiations to representing A/Es in large, complex litigation. John has taught numerous national webinars on A/E contracting and risk management as well as numerous state, regional and local seminars dedicated to risk management for the A/E. Partner Michael Cochrane is a registered PE and has also taught A/E seminars.  Partner Julie Chopourian has substantial construction defect litigation experience and has represented A/Es for many years.

Firm Information

GCWP has been practicing litigation defense work for over 100 years in the Sacramento and Northern California area. The four partners have been with the firm 29, 25, 12 and 7 years. Of counsel attorney Lawrence Wengel has been with GCWP for 40 years. GCWP’s reputation is providing aggressive litigation defense with a level of efficiency to maintain client resources and promote positive business relationships. GCWP does not allow young associates to handle files. GCWP is primarily composed of experienced trial counsel. Each partner has trial experience and has substantial experience representing design professionals.
