Updates from the AIA Trust & looking ahead to 2023

In the last news publication of 2022, the AIA Trust shares updates for what it has been working on and what our sights are set on for 2023:

Leadership:

  • Congratulations to the newly appointed 2023 incoming Trustees! The AIA Trust is looking forward to having Mary Katherine Lanzillotta, FAIA of Hartman-Cox Architects and Kelly Ives, AIA, CAE of AIA Kentucky begin their terms.
  • The AIA Trust is governed by Trustees comprised of six AIA members and one AIA component executive. The Trustees are appointed by the AIA President.  See who our 2022 Trustees
  • The AIA Trust has at least one opening every year. The 2024 Call for Nominations will be posted in January.

Risk Management:

Our motto is “Where smart architects manage risk®”.  We strive to make sure that our risk resources are as pertinent as possible for AIA members.  In 2023 we plan to provide even more but we’d love to know: what is on your mind?

Reach out and share your risk topics with the Trustees at aiatrust@aia.org.

Annual Professional Liability Survey:

Every year in collaboration with ACEC and NSPE, the AIA Trust hosts a Professional Liability Survey.   It’s an insightful day to hear about what trends are on the horizon for the profession.  We’ll be sharing more in our January newsletter.  Until then, see what was predicted in 2021 in our article on the previous survey .

Open enrollment:

This is the time of year that everyone needs to sign up for benefits for either your firm or your family – or both! The AIA Trust has you covered.  We work with members and experts to select top-tier products that meet strict quality standards and work for individuals and firms of any size. We also serve as your member advocate, which means we help you get information and claims handled promptly.

We also know that this is a big decision that you start thinking about well before the fall comes around.  Be on the lookout for an event we are planning in Spring 2023 that will share our offerings to help you plan better, sooner!
